🌍 Project Partnership

SAFE is an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership in adult education, coordinated by Creativity Works Europe (Poland) and implemented together with partners from Spain and Italy. The partnership combines expertise in emotional intelligence, storytelling and cybersecurity.

  • 🇵🇱 Creativity Works Europe (Poland) – project coordinator, providing tools for building emotional intelligence
  • 🇪🇸 Permacultura Cantabria (Spain) – contributes storytelling as a method for raising awareness and offering support, and hosts the training course
  • 🇮🇹 Oriel Association (Italy) – brings experience in addressing and combating cyberbullying among adults

Project Overview

When we talk about cyberbullying, we usually think of children and teenagers. Yet online harassment is also a frequent and serious problem among adults. As the UN describes it, cyberbullying is an extension of traditional harassment into digital spaces: intimidating, harassing or humiliating someone through digital communication platforms.

The project is deliberately implemented in three very different national contexts – Poland, Spain and Italy – so that the methods developed work in each of them and achieve greater impact:

  • 🇵🇱 Poland: according to a 2021 survey, 38% of adults had experienced online harassment, often with lasting psychological effects – and such cases are rarely reported.
  • 🇪🇸 Spain: according to the Mapfre Foundation and the First Global Cyberbullying Report, Spain tops the global list with over 2 million cases among adults, young people and adolescents.
  • 🇮🇹 Italy: a 2021 study found that 28% of people aged 30–60 had experienced defamation, threats or privacy violations on social networks and messaging apps.

SAFE applies proven good practices and uses storytelling to show what adults experience online. Developing emotional intelligence – self-awareness and self-esteem – also helps build a culture of respect in digital spaces.

Objectives

  • 🎯 Equip adult educators with resources and training to recognise and prevent cyberbullying – raising awareness of its consequences through storytelling and strengthening emotional intelligence: resilience, empathy and self-esteem.
  • 📖 Develop an Interactive Book with tools and strategies for trainers and adult communities to prevent and respond to cyberbullying, offering a safe space to create stories based on real experiences.
  • 📢 Share the results widely among trainers, participants and stakeholders to reach as many people as possible.

Project Activities

  • 🤝 Kick-off meeting – Sarón, Spain, 10–11 December 2025
  • 📚 Training course – Sarón, Spain, 15–23 May 2026: eight participants per partner learn the Interactive Book methodology from Permacultura Cantabria
  • 🇵🇱 Participatory visit – Poland, October 2026: twelve participants train with Creativity Works Europe in tools for building emotional intelligence and managing cyberbullying
  • 🇮🇹 Interim meeting – Italy, January 2027
  • 🇮🇹 Participatory visit – Italy, February 2027: twelve participants train with Oriel Association in addressing and combating cyberbullying among adults
  • 🎤 Multiplier conferences – Poland, Italy and Spain: presenting the Interactive Book, with internal workshops and open consultation periods
  • 🏁 Final meeting – Poland, October 2027

Expected Results

The main result of the project will be an Interactive Book with an audiobook, bringing together tools, exercises and storytelling-based methods to build empathy, resilience and safer online habits. It will be freely available in English, Polish, Spanish and Italian.

The project also aims to:

  • ✅ strengthen the skills of adult educators and their understanding of cyberbullying
  • ✅ give them tools and strategies to help their communities respond to it
  • ✅ raise awareness among adults and develop their emotional intelligence
  • ✅ offer, through storytelling, a safe space to share experiences, seek advice and support one another

Project materials will be published on this page as the project progresses.
