BICYCLE Study Visit in Brussels

On the 22nd and 23rd of October, the BICYCLE Study Visit brought together young people and youth workers from Belgium, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Spain for the final activity of the BICYCLE Project – BIcycle Culture as Youth’s Civic and sustainabLe Empowerment.

Participants explored how European institutions work and how young people can take an active role in shaping policies and decisions. They could raise their voices in front of the representatives of the DG MOVE of the European Commission and show the work done throughout the project as well as give a proposal for new policies and biking improvements.

They also visited the Parlamentarium to learn more about the history and functioning of the European Parliament.

The Study Visit gave the youngsters a space to meet and discuss on sustainable mobility, youth advocacy, and civic engagement, strengthening their understanding of how local initiatives can connect with European priorities.

Beyond the programme, the study visit created space for new connections among these young people and organisations working towards more sustainable communities.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to these two inspiring days in Brussels!
